Premalu is a Malayalam romantic-comedy drama directed by  Girish A D, featuring Naslen and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. Billed to be a romantic- comedy, Premalu has a script that Gireesh co-wrote along with Kiran Josey. The movie is produced by Dileesh Pothan, Fahadh Faasil, and Syam Pushkaran under the banner of Bhavana Studios. In addition to Naslen and Mamitha Baiju, the film includes key roles portrayed by Shyam Mohan, Akhila Bhargavan, Sangeeth Prathap, Althaf Salim, and Meenakshi Raveendran. Ajmal Sabu managed the cinematography, Akash Joseph Varghese oversaw the editing, and Vishnu Vijay composed the music.

Premalu  is a journey through Sachin’s life and his love interest, which according to him put his life at stake. Naslen is fantastic as Sachin. He lives as sachin, meticulously depicting each emotion on screen. With Mamitha baiju joining him, the entire story turns jolly romantic fun ride to viewers. Mamitha has given a neat and mature performance. Their love story could not have been this beautiful without their friends who deliver a subtle performance.

The casting choices are all pitch perfect, there’s hardly any false note on this front. Sangeeth prathap,Meenakshi raveendran,Althaf and akhila bargavan. are a spirited lot and lend a lot of charm to the proceedings on screen.Shyam mohan is hilarious .Though we can predict his fate and intention by the middle of second half, he is surely an integral element that keeps the plot lively.

Director Girish A.D., who is known for his hit films Thanneer mathan dinangal and Super Sharanya has chosen his comfortable zone for his third directorial outing. But, it is safe in his hands. The territory might be familiar, but Girish A.D. negotiates it through fresh paths and also, the writers have succeeded in pulling together elements of the movie that follows funny narration. It weaves humour  accompanied  humorous background score, songs and scenic visuals.

Vishnu vijay’s music is one of the highlights of the film .The cinematography by Ajmal sabu acts as a plus for the film, the visuals giving you a tinge of fun- color with the contemporary touch. A neat editing also helps in maintaining the flow. The dialogues are natural, and tickle our funny bones most of the times.

Premalu wins in striking a chord with the audience through its realistic moves and dialgoues and it would leave you with a broad smile as you exit from the theatre.
