Kaapa is a Malayalam language action-thriller film directed by Shaji Kailas, written by G R Indugopan and produced by Fefka Writers Union, Theatre of Dreams and Saregama India. It stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role with Aparna Balamurali, Asif Ali and Anna Ben.

What works

Kappa‘s main positive is its stellar performances. Prithviraj, while not the best, was adequate. Asif Ali is well-suited for the role and has done an excellent job. The film’s out-of-the-box elements are Dileesh Pothan and Jagadish‘s stellar performances. Aparna Balamurali and Anna turn to a firework as the Climax approaches.

Shaji Kailas, as a director, is a little more update than Kaduva. Jomon T John elevates the action scenes with stunning visuals. Dawn Vincent‘s background music contributed to the gangster movie atmosphere.

What doesn’t work

Shaji Kailas‘ experimental preparation is a wet cracker that fails to entertain.Even though the director makes every effort to avoid clichΓ©s, the situation presented by the mediocre script leads to clichΓ©s. The unexpected twist near the end of the predictable film did not help it. The audience will not be able to digest the thread for the second part. The action scenes, which occurred at regular intervals, had no impact. Even in 2022, Kappa maintains a 1990s-style mass cinema.

Bottomline

A Mediocre gangster drama!!
