Saudi Vellakka CC225/2009 is a Malayalam-language drama film, written and directed by Tharun Moorthy starring Lukman Avaran, Vincy Aloshious and Binu Pappu are in major roles. The film is produced by Sandip Senan known for Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum.

What works

After the investigation thriller Operation Java, director Tharun Moorthy was directed the movie Saudi Vellakka. Like Operation Java, the director hits the ball out of the park, that too in a different genre. That’s where Tharun Moorthy stands out among directors who fall after the success of their first film. A beautiful story that brings tears to the eyes, lifted by the best performances of a bunch of actors, and with heart-warming music, Saudi Vellaka brings emotions to the highest level.
The movie started at a slow pace and moved forward with a realistic approach. After the first half, it emotionally burned to make the audience cry. The last 40 minutes were the Heart and Soul of the movie. Especially the climax portions. Devika varma, who played the title role, remains in the mind of the audience even after the end of the film ,Lukman and Binu pappu were excellent as usual. There is no doubt that the new faces in supporting roles will add value to Malayalam cinema in the future. Palee francis‘s music played a key role in keeping the emotional angle of the film burning.

What doesn’t work

The first half which is told in a very slow mood gives smooth okay feel to the audience but drags ,while the second half overcomes it all.

The dubbing of the title character and daughter-in-law was not fair in the beginning, Malayalam’s best actors Srinda and Pauly wilson gave their voices, and that too familiar Voice for un familiar people, difficult to digest.

Bottomline

Heart melting emotional drama!!
