Ram Setu is a Hindi-language action-adventure film,directed by Abhishek Sharma. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Satya Dev and follows an archeologist who is investigating the nature of Ram Setu, known in English as Adam’s Bridge.
What works
An interesting plot that Indian cinema has not discussed so far, an adventure ride in search of the history of Lord Ram and Ram Setu. The first half gives the audience a satisfied mood with interesting scenes.
Akshay Kumar was good as Aryan, an archeologist. Nushrratt Bharuccha and Jacqueline Fernandez were OK in limited roles. The main plus of the movie is another casting,It is by Telugu actor Satya Dev. His character that Ram setu presents to the audience to remember when they leave the cinema hall. He made his Bollywood debut memorable with his amazing performance.
What doesn’t works
The director Abhishek sharma tried to develop Lord Ram’s spiritual-devotional angle even though there was a fascinating adventure plot and there were many angles to develop. With the casting of Akshay Kumar, the color of the political agenda has also taken hold.
The film fails to convince the audience due to WhatsApp standard arguments and lack of logic. The film does not have the eye-catching visuals or music required for an adventure film, and the music director Daniel b George,has also failed to prepare the background music to elevate the scenes. VFX glitches also added to the impact of Ram Setu‘s fall.
