What works

As the title Pranaya Vilasam suggests, the film is about love, and it provides the necessary romantic moments to do the genre justice. The emotionally engaging film is mostly worked out by the performances of leading actors Arjun Ashokan ,Hakkim shah and Manoj. Manoj‘s one-liners and Hakim Shah’s matured performance stand out.

Shaan Rahman‘s mesmerizing music is the emotional backbone of the film. Young actresses Anaswara and Mamita have once again put out performances that rise to the ranks of Malayalam’s promising heroines.

What doesn’t work

The film suffers from a lack of strong flashbacks when the necessary moments are created for the film. If that shortcoming had been filled, perhaps Pranaya Vilasam would have stood out as a memorable movie.

Even when emotionally worked out, the film resembles Asif Ali and Biju Menon’s Anuraga Karikin Vellam, and Anuraga Karikin Vellamm is comparable to Pranaya Vilasam as Sibling.

Bottomline

Decent to watch!!
