Malikappuram is a family action adventure drama film directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar and starring Unni Mukundan, Deva Nandha and Sreepath in the lead roles.

What works

A movie becomes a huge success when it is filled with ingredients that can attract the family audience and when it interacts with the family audience. Malikappuram offers such a package; the hero enters only when the interval approaches, yet the film engages with those family-background ingredients. Beyond cliched family dramas, Malikappuram works with some extra ingredients. The film’s assets are the child actors Deva Nandha and Sreepath, who rock with surprising performances. Malikappuram‘s success lies in the connection between the fantastic action scene and the twist and dialogue in the climax, which gives a high point to the movie by giving fantasy elements to the story, which is told like a grandmother’s story, and gives the pre-climax that heightens the fantasy feeling.
Let the first applause go to the director, who managed the film without feeling any of its flaws. The second round of applause belongs to the music department, which controlled the pulse of the film. The child actors and Unni Mukundan, who are the surprise factors of the film, also deserve a round of applause for their excellent performances.

What doesn’t work

At a time when Sabarimala is becoming a political issue today, the advent and intent of such films may not digest a section of audience. The dialogue included in connection with the entry of women in Sabarimala also gives a political tone.

Bottomline

Perfect Family Entrtainer!!
