The title of the first 3D movie in Indian cinema history belongs to the 1984 Malayalam film My Dear Kuttichathan. But after that, Malayalam cinema did not take advantage of the potential of 3D.
The truth is that the cost and lack of theaters to use the 3D possibilities have remained a stumbling block. The truth is that the advent of multiplexes and the change in audience views to cinema, with audiences attracted to the technological wizardry of Hollywood films ā€“ have forced Malayalam cinema to move behind the possibilities of 3D.
