Madanolsavam is a Family-comedy drama directed by Sudheesh Gopinath. The film features Suraj Venjaramood and Babu Antony in lead roles.

Based on the story of prominenrt writer E.Santhosh Kumar, the screenplay written by Ratheesha Balakrishnan Poduval. Produced by Vinayaka Ajith under the banner of Ajith Vinayaka Films, Christo Xavier composed music for the film .Shehanad Jalal handled the Cinematography while Vivek Harshan is in charge of editing.

Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, the man behind the screwball comedy Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham and the adorable Android Kunjappan,Nna Thaan Casu Kodu, returns as a scriptwriter with a social satire.

Madanolsavam is a political satire about numerous persons in various states of mind who are related by their inane behaviours. The film is a unique experience, filled with comedy and emotional components while maintaining a layer of sarcasm on top. While most of the action and banter will have you laughing uncontrollably, this does not take away from the film’s social critique or the almost realistic picture of a defenceless guy at battle with powerful political parties.

Over the years, Suraj Venjaaramoodu has grown from a comedian to a serious performer, with an appetite for landing in roles that demanded exploration of sides and shades of men that are vastly dissimilar. The actor has been part of some of the finest movies in recent times. He continues this streak of sparkling performances with Madanolsavam.

Bhama Arun, who plays Suraj’s partner, is praiseworthy. The main surprise in the cast is an actor who plays Suraj’s aunt; she has quite a few interesting lines in the act, and the actor pulls it off with much self-assurance. The talented supporting cast, including Rajesh Madhavan, Babu Anthony, and quite a few new faces, is a treat to watch.

Director Sudheesh Gopinath is excellent, however the film has some flaws. A thin plot provides ample material for development but has restrictions. The simple climax and predictability are also negative factors.

Bottomline

Equal dose of satire, sarcasm and humor.. Decent!!!
