Dhanush‘s career consecutive Third OTT release after Jagame Thanthiram and Atrangire. Promising film maker Karthick Naren directed the political action thriller under the banner Sathya Jyothi films.
Expectations
Maaran is karthick naren‘s next outing after promising Dhruvangal 16, Mafia:Chapter1 and Navarasa(Project Agni). Dhanush – Karthik Naren – GV Prakash team’s Maaran has high hopes in trade. Discussions on social media that the trailer of the movie is similar to KV Anand‘s KO‘s Plot have dimmed the film’s hopes.
What works
Brother-sister bonding work out in intitial stage of the movie.
What not works
Would have seen tons of movies in the story line and the emotional connect was missing. There isn’t enough scope for Dhanush to perform the best spell. When it comes to screenplay, the twists are ok, but the reason behind the twists looks unconvincing. Karthick naren misserably fizzled as a chief to make an impactful film.
Technical side
The musical score by GV Prakash is just average and the background score can’t make any impact. Cinematography and editing is just ok.
Bottomline
Completely Misfired, poor to watch.
