Kishkindha Kaandam is a Malayalam-language mystery thriller film directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and written by Bahul Ramesh. The film stars Asif Ali, Vijayaraghavan, and Aparna Balamurali. The story takes place in monekys inhabited Kallepathi reserve forest where ex-military Appupilla and his son Ajayachandran, a forest officer, resides.

“This piece of art is one of a kind and proves that a good storyline is enough to leave an imprint on viewers, rather than relying on songs, item numbers, and slapstick comedy. The movie grips you from the very start, beginning at a slow pace before gaining momentum in the middle and sustaining it until the very end.

The film is full of suspense, drama, and thrilling elements, set against a mesmerizing backdrop of a home surrounded by a reserve forest. This combination could bind viewers until the end, and the jaw-dropping climax is something that some thrillers often lack.

‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ completely justifies its title and is beautifully narrated to viewers, with its outstanding cast being the icing on the cake. Moreover, the perfect shots of the forest, with each detail and scene, are worthy of appreciation.

‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ is indeed worth your money. It’s a sincere effort to portray a solid story that will leave you baffled, keeping you guessing what’s happening and what will happen next. We’ve seen several suspense movies with good buildups but disappointing endings. Even after the climax, ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ keeps surprising you until the last shot. Truly a nice movie to watch with your family and kids without hesitation. No abusive language or unnecessary intimate shots; just a clean and gripping storyline. I liked that the story didn’t force a romantic element or unnecessary songs between characters, keeping it straight and focused.

Bahul Ramesh’s cinematography ā€“ the cool surrounding colors of the forest and the simplicity of the characters ā€“ have not been lost and are mirrored to a huge extent in Dinjith Ayyathan’s masterful and impressive narrative style.

The refreshing combination of Asif Ali and Vijayraghavan, along with the array of emotions and the ease with which they exude them in ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’, makes for an outstanding watch. Asif Ali’s ability to tailor his sentiments ā€“ sympathy, anger, and despair ā€“ multiplies the strength of his character. The movie’s swiftness leaves no time for the audience to mentally prepare for upcoming situations.

There isn’t a single scene where Vijayaraghavan is overshadowed by Asif Ali’s presence. His acting skills are distinctly sharp and flowing. The director’s choice of actors for each character in ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ has made an immense contribution to the impact it leaves on viewers long after they leave the theater.”

Bottomline

Kishkindha Kaandam” is a gripping mystery thriller with a unique storyline that keeps viewers engaged from start to finish.
