KGF: Chapter 2 is an upcoming Indian Kannada language period action film written and directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner Hombale Films. The second instalment of the two-part series is a sequel to the 2018 film K.G.F: Chapter 1. The film stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon and Prakash Raj.
Expectations
KGF: Chapter 1, which was released without any hype outside the Kannada film industry with a budget of Rs 80 crore, has grossed over Rs 230 crore. KGF: Chapter 1, Later, the film and Rocky Bhai became popular through TV premieres and the OTT platform. Therefore, when the second part KGF: chapter 2 arrives, the expectations are high.
KGF:Chapter 1 debuted in hindi with a minimal hype and astonished the industry. Naturally, there were high expectations for KGF:Chapter 2. Due to the prequel advantage KGF:Chapter 2 has a better pre-release hype than RRR in indian film industry. With the two distinct trailers and a number of promos along with some fearless promotions across the country, KGF:Chapter 2 has created all the hype and expectations.
What works
There is no need of a review ,Golden stuff in the mass elevation ,Hero celebratory genre.Goosebumps from the title to the end credits. Director Prashanth Neel fulfills and exceeds all the expectations eventually with supreme mass elevation stuff with touching emotion.
KGF:Chapter2 has best technical side, Right from the Ravi Basrur‘s BGM to the Bhuvan Gowda camera work,Ujwal Kulkarni editing- every department excels in this film. The impressively-mounted sets make up for Prashanthβs flimsy storyline. Composer Ravi Basrur lifts up the scenes with his terrific background orchestra. The mining backdrop and the way camera work showcases these larger than life aspects is top notch.
KGF:Chapter2 is going to be Yashβs next step to stardom as he has given a mind blowing performance. His attitude, body language and laid back screen presence are just superb in the film. Yash has been styled superbly and the action choreography and thrills give you multiple whistle worthy moments.
Sanjay Dutt is electrifying as hard-hearted Adheera and his menacing getup is a big plus. Srinidhi Shetty gets a good role in part 2 and does well .The surprise package of the film is Raveena Tandon. After doing glamor roles for years together, she has showcased what she can do as an actress. She plays the key role in the film and is authoritative with her performance. other two lady characters of Eswari Rao and Archana jois done fabulous job. Rao Ramesh too gets a good role and elevates the proceedings with his dialogue delivery.
Coming to the director Prashant Neel, he has done an excellent job with the film. Looks like he knew exactly what the audience were looking for and delivered it to them as a package. With KGF:Chapter 2, he will become one of the top directors in the country for sure.
The manner in which he showcased the character graph of Rocky, elevated him in multiple areas and did not lose the emotions is the best part of his narration. The way he ends the character of Rocky is also impressive. KGF:Chapter2 has so many factors that will relate to the masses as Neel takes us to the world of KGF and entertains you completely.
What not works
The character of Adheera, who gave a lot of build up in the first part, often felt weak. Though Sanjay Dutt excelled in his performance, still did not seem to be the Strong villain to stand up against Rocky Bhai.
