Kaduva is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language action film directed by Shaji Kailas and written by Jinu V. Abraham. It stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in the title role, along with Vivek Oberoi and Samyuktha Menon. The film was jointly produced by Supriya Menon of Prithviraj Productions and Listin Stephen of Magic Frames, with the latter also serving as distributor. Jakes Bejoy composed the film’s original songs and background score.
Kaduva is scheduled to be released on 7 July 2022 in Malayalam and dubbed versions of Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages.

Expectation

The audience has more worries than the expectations in Kaduva. The audience does not hope for the director Shaji Kailas, who is returning to the field after being fielded out due to continuous failures. But Mollywood wants the return of Shaji Kailas , who was once the care of address of mass movies.

Kaduva‘s main challenge is to bring the audience closer to the theatres, who have been away from the theaters in recent times. Also, the heavy rains in Kerala for the past few days are also a challenge for the film.

Even though the movie has not been able to do nearly as much as the released trailers, Trade is hoping that it will do wonders at the box office as a mass masala genre that brings people to the theatres.
A big success is inevitable for Shaji Kailas and Theatres. Will Kaduva make it happen? Let’s see.

What works

Shaji kailas has implemented the same mass template that was tried and successful in Malayalam cinema in the 1990s. When the technical department was there to support it, we got a mass entertainer,strange in Malayalam cinema for some time now. Flashes of Shaji kailas’s glory days can be seen in kaduva.

Prithviraj delivered teriffic role easily and fab in kottayam achayan swag. Vivek oberoi is brilliant and strong as antagonist . Samyuktha menon done decent job.

Jakes bejoy elevate mass scenes with his back ground score. Abinand ramanujam done fabulous job and support well in Prithviraj’s swag.

Another thing worth mentioning that Action directors Mafia sasi and Kanal kannan. Their well choreographed action scenes elevated the mood of the film.

What not works

Script offered nothing new and predictable in most of the parts. Director Shaji kailas still believes in 90’s template and that was irritating in initial stage of the movie.

Jakes bejoy‘s songs not up to the mark and bgm repeated in several intervals. Abinand ramanujam‘s helicam shots gave boredom in many places.

Bottomline
