What works
At one time, comedy entertainers held Malayalam cinema and theatres, but later the absence of comedy entertainers kept the family audience away from theatres. By giving a new level to comedy entertainers like Kunji Ramayanam and Godha, director Basil Joseph has established his foothold in Malayalam. Later, as an actor, Basil joseph continued that comedy wave with the film Jan E man. Its another continuous laughter feast is Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey. From the beginning to the end, the film makes the audience laugh and think. The film was rich in situational comedies and black humor without unnecessary insertions. The songs and background music supported the situations as a backbone and benefited the film. All the stars of the film, even the stars who come and go in small roles, come out with jokes that shake the theaters.
The director deserves a round of applause for wrapping the female-oriented film in comedy and handling it cleanly.
What not works
The over the top action scenes in the climax did not suit the film. And at some places the film was wandering aimlessly like a broken kite. Darshana Rajendran was the center of attraction of the film but the casting was not validating the age of the character. Especially during the school period in the initial portions.
