Japan is a Tamil-language heist action comedy film written and directed by Raju Murugan It is produced by S. R. Prakash Babu and S. R. Prabhu under Dream Warrior Pictures. The film stars Karthi and Anu Emmanuel, alongside Sunil, S. D. Vijay Milton and K. S. Ravikumar.

The fact that Karthi is teaming up with Raju Murugan, who made critically acclaimed films like Kuckoo, Mehandi Circus, and Joker, has created huge expectations for the audience in Japan. But in the first ten minutes of the movie, Raju Murugan started testing the audience’s patience by dashing expectations. While Karthi tried to give his best in every sense, the movie kept iritating without giving any interesting scenes.Japan can be described as the worst film in Karthi’s career. Raju Murugan’s worst screenplay is entirely responsible for this.

Even though there is a lot of hero elevation, the movie ends without any impact. A good example of poor writing is that, despite the presence of many actors, none of the characters sticks in the mind. Camera man Ravi varman and music director GV Prakashkumar also helpless because of Japan was not a product by elevating visuals,action scenes or music. By that time, Japan was already devastated, with the audience asking themselves when the movie would end.
