Mohanlal makes a cameo appearance. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while the cinematography and editing were handled by Vijay Kartik Kannan and R. Nirmal.

Expectations

The success of Jailer is important in the career of Rajini, reeling from successive failures, and director Nelson, who is trying to recover the image damaged by Beast. With Anirudh handling the music department, the released songs and promotional stuff were successful. Jailer, which had less hype than the recent Rajinikanth films, has exceeded expectations with the release of the trailer. The pre-release bookings and release size prove that the film has not damaged Rajini’s stardom.

With the presence of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Kannada superstar Shivraj Kumar, Jailer has earned the reputation of being a multi-star movie. trade expects the second-best opening day collection of Rajinikanth’s career. If the talk is positive, many records will be broken during the Independence weekend.

What works

This time, everything was safe in Nelson’s hands. It is clear from the first scenes that Nelson had a clear vision of how to present the superstar. Rajini Kanth, who went from a family background to a wild mode in the beginning, then climbed the ladder without looking back and rocked the theatres in the interval. With Anirudh’s badass BGM and Vinayakan’s holstered performance, Jailer reached the height of Rajanism.
Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal’s cameos were a big plus for the movie. Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal, who are just walking around without any dialogues, make the audience stunning in Vijay Karthik’s frames in Anirudh’s background score. The terrific screen presence of the three stars in the climax saves the second half, which is more subdued than the first half. Anirudh is terrific in JAILER, as usual. Especially the ‘Tal se Tal mila, Kannodu kanpethellaam’ song placement gives entertainment at its peak. Stunt Siva’s action shows the super star’s wild angle, and the climax action is top-notch.

What doesn’t work

After a rocking first half, the movie did not do justice to the second half. Although important scenes of the film, the scenes involving Sunil and Tamannah test the patience of the audience. There are high points that come at regular intervals that keep the second half from falling. If 10ā€“15 minutes were cut from the second half, the film would have been a little faster.

The flashback portions in the second half did justice to the character hype, but the truth is that Rajini’s health issues were exposed more. It was especially evident in Rajinikanth’s body language.

Vasanth Ravi’s character was often lagging in performance. Vasanth’s performance in emotional scenes made the scenes more tragic.

Bottomline

Out and out Rajini showGood first half and Ok second half!!
