Hanuman is a Telugu- language superhero film written and directed by Prashanth Varma. Produced by Primeshow Entertainment, the film stars Teja Sajja, Amrita Iyer, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty and Vinay Rai in lead roles.

The film is set in the fictional village Anjanadri. This will be the first film of Prashant Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), which will be followed by Adhira.

Prasanth Varma’s latest film, “Hanu Man,” is one of the most captivating works of entertainment in the industry. It skillfully combines mythology, VFX, drama, and emotional components. The thrilling story develops in a series of spine-tingling moments that build to an incredible, attention-grabbing finish.

The first half of the film has a basic foundation and entertains with its super hero origin, which is visually stunning for the budget. The title card, pre-interval block, and some comedies give you more entertainment. Content-wise, the film is pretty basic, with a super hero subject, but the execution is what makes it nice.In the second half, despite long and dragging Some mass-elevated mythological elements, some action blocks, and the climax add more goosebumps moments. Full marks to the climax fragment, which leads to the sequel ‘Jai Hanuman ‘.

Moreover, the film’s strategic use of VFX elements enhances the narrative without overshadowing the story itself, contributing to a captivating cinematic journey. The Big Screen experience is joyous due to the BGM and a few scenes boasting of our rich heritage and past.More importantly, it hasn’t taken the religious texts for granted, unlike other big-budget films.

Additionally, anchoring the story is Teja Sajja’s commendable performance, providing a solid foundation. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar also makes an unforgettable impression, while Vinay Rai injects a menacing intensity into his character.Amritha Iyer, Vennela Kishore, and Samuthirakkani do their parts well. The supporting cast also adds a layer of brilliance to the overall cinematic experience.

Despite its strengths, “Hanu Man” grapples with some noticeable flaws, primarily in terms of its runtime. A shorter duration might have enhanced the film’s overall impact. Vinay Rai’s typical villain character needs better treatment; the cringe-worthy characterization and the suits remind me of some Hollywood super villains.

On the whole, Hanuman is an enjoyable film with entertaining elements scattered throughout. Such films deserve more support so that more filmmakers are encouraged to make films that do justice to our scriptures, history, and culture.

Bottomline

A wholesome entertainer. Stunning visuals, mythology, fantasy, beautiful storytelling, and flawless execution—this one has it all. Of course, it has minor imperfections, but it acknowledges the team’s effort to make it with a limited 20crore  budget.
