The makers have announced that Mammootty‘s long-awaited Malayalam film, ‘Rorschach,’ will be released on October 7. The film, directed by Nisam Basheer and produced by Mammootty under the banner of Mammootty Kampany, is billed as one of the most intriguing projects of the year. Dulquer Salmaan‘s Wayfarer Films will distribute the film in Kerala, while Truth Global Films will handle international distribution.
The announcement of the film Rorschach raised some eyebrows. The makers surprise everyone with the first look poster and build anticipation with the trailer. Mammootty will play Luke Anthony in the film, a man with a mysterious past who seeks vengeance. Fans are excited to see Mammooty in the terrifying avatar as he prepares to deal with his ‘prey.’
Other facts bring moviegoers even closer to the film. Nisam Basheer‘s second directorial effort follows the Asif Ali-led romantic surprise hit ‘Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha.’Sameer Abdul, who had penned fantacy tale movies like āAdventures of Omanakkuttanā, āIblisā, has penned the script for āRorschachā as well.Music for the film is by Midhun Mukundan ,who has worked on Kannada hits like Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana,ondu motteya kathe,mayabazar etc. Nimish ravi,who worked for Kurup, Luca etc handled the camera. The promising technical team adding wings to those hopes carrying Rorschach.
Postponing the release after announcing the release date and starting promotional activities only a few days ago has pulled the film back from getting a wide attention. The simultaneous release in the Gulf countries, the second largest market for Malayalam cinema, and the absence of major Malayalam releases will benefit the film’s opening. Rorschach, which releases on October 7, is only challenged by the box office performance of Ponniyin Selvan in the major markets of Malayalam cinema (Kerala and the Gulf region).
