Dunki is a Hindi-language comedy-drama film based on the eponymous illegal immigration technique. The film is directed and edited by Rajkumar Hirani from a screenplay he wrote with Abhijat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon. Produced under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment, Jio Studios and Rajkumar Hirani Films, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal (billed as a special appearance), and Boman Irani.
Dunki is a movie, the story of which is relevant in the tensed times of today but the script looks weak. The plot seems to have lost in maze while looking for a purpose. Sha Rukh khan’s character is not properly scripted and leaves you with many questions. The unnecessary repetitive set up and logical errors makes irritating .The ending is predictable and the climax could be a little more interesting.
Sha Rukh khan puts up a nice performance but this is surely not one of his best. His chemistry with Tapsee is good.Β Vicky Kaushal pulls off a brilliant act and connected well with emotionally .Β Boman irani delivers a nice performance.Anil Grover and vikram kocchar Ayyub and Brijendra Kala are good actors ,utilize them properly.
There is a blandness that permeates through and through, hardly any dramatic peaks nor any innate tension, no shocks nor surprises, not even one moment or scene that stays with you . Some Rajkumar hirani touch comedy set pieces works in the first half. Even a sequence with Shah Rukh Khan and Tapsee together in the last 30 minutes β that should have brought the house down β totally lacks magic.Β

The film fails to leave an impact. Surely, a little more was expected from the director,who has delivered a films like PK,3 Idiots,Sanju ,Munna bhai franchise etc. in the past!
