Chandramukhi 2 is a Tamil-language comedy horror film written and directed by P. Vasu, with produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the banner of Lyca Productions. It is a sequel to Chandramukhi (2005). The film stars Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut in the principal roles along with an ensemble supporting cast, that includes Vadivelu, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Mahima Nambiar, Lakshmi Menon, Srushti Dange, Rao Ramesh, Subiksha and others.

Chandramukhi (2005) blockbuster film directed by P. Vasu and starring Rajinikanth in the lead, the audience can’t be wrong in their expectations when it comes to the sequel. But keeping all expectations in check, Chandramukhi’s script did not make any changes other than introducing new actors, except for some changes in the flashback. Except that Vadivelu’s character occasionally utters dialogue reminiscent of the first part, everything else is a repeat of the first part.

The director did not get the idea that a sequel was being made to the same script after 16 years. The family sentiment and comedy made by the director stuck in the 90s did not even meet the stage drama standards. The progression of the story fails miserably in silly proceedings.

Except for the two Telugu songs of Oscar winner Keeravani, the rest did not live up to the standards.
The performance of the stars also suffered a decline. Kangana’s Chandramukhi lives up to the standards, but several scenes lacked theatrical quality due to execution flaws. Lakshmi Menon made an impact even in small scenes. Lawrence, on the other hand, was on the verge of coming out of the Kanchana franchise.

Bottomline
Struggled with silly proceedings, silly family sentiments, and out-dated making. Same old story.
