Captain Miller is a Tamil-language action adventure film directed by Arun Matheswaran, and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. It stars Dhanush in the title role, with Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Aditi Balan, Sundeep Kishan, Edward Sonnenblick and John Kokken in supporting roles.

In previous Arun Matheswaran movies, Captain Miller also talks about politics. Miller travels in the British era, focusing on that politics in director Mark Violence. Contrary to the norm, Satya Jyothi Films has dressed up the film on a rich scale with period sets, vehicles, and weapons. It is possible to clearly see every detail on the screen. A temple and people surround it, and the audience is one of them.

Arun Matheswaran, a raw-violent film maker, has proved his talent here as well. Arun also reveals his politics at regular intervals through dialogues. In regular interval we got High moments, everything is impactful because of Arun’s cinematic vision and his Raw-violent execution.. interval bang, pre-climax, and climax are very special..

Sidharths Nuni’s camera’s eyes add rich feel to the film. The realistic feel of the action scenes is a reflection of Nuni’s visual sense. The art department is like a canvas for Captain Miller, marking the times. GV Prakash is a music director and actor who can do such work even when he is busy as an actor. Such masterclass work has been prepared for Captain Miller. The vibe created by GV will surely be discussed in the coming days.

Dhanush’s powerhouse performance is the backbone of Captain Miller. His screen presence was powerful like KGF Rocky bhai. He is terrific in emotional scenes. The cameo of the Sundeep Kishan-Shivaraj Kumar duo makes an impact, especially in the climax ,it was lit-fire work. Priyanka did a neat job, but Nivedita overperformed with her limited screen space.

Even with so many positives, Miller couldn’t land a solid punch. The main reason for that is the lack of powerful villains. Among the alternating villains, no one is a strong opponent for the Shiva Rajkumar-Dhanush duo. Although the action sequences are technically strong, there is a lack of depth in the proliferation of gun shots. The slow pace also affects the enjoyment to some extent.

Bottomline

It lacks a solid punch due to the absence of a powerful antagonist, but still manages to maintain its purpose.
