Bandra is a Malayalam-language drama film directed by Arun Gopy, written by Udaykrishna, and produced by Vinayaka Ajith. The film stars Dileep and Tamannaah Bhatia, alongside Dino Morea, Lenaa, Mamta Mohandas, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Sarathkumar, Rajveer Ankur Singh, Darasing Khurana, Amit Tiwari, and Easwari Rao. The film’s original score was composed by Sam C. S., while the cinematography and editing were handled by Shaji Kumar and Vivek Harshan.
The script writer, Udaykrishna, did not deviate from the routine path as the audience feared. The writer is stuck in the 1990s and still follows the 90s formula and framework. The much-hated tail end of his previous films and the character names of the previous hit films are here. Veeraraghavan Alexander Rasheed Khan, etc.
Bandra, which starts with the relationship between the underworld and cinema, does not emotionally connect with the audience in any way. High-mass moments that the film demands It wasn’t in the movie. Dileep seemed to be missed in the mass scenes. As usual, Bandra adds strength to the rumour that Dileep is not a man for mass roles. Tamannaah’s Malayalam debut was not impressive, and she was not the right actress for the role.
Sam CS’s music and Shaji kumar’s camera eyes try to sustain the film, which ends in a callous manner without creating any emotional bond, but director Arun Gopi’s helplessness and Udaya krishna’s weak script make the situation even more dire. The Anb-Ariv team’s action scenes didn’t make any impact; the relevance of the action scenes was how they were used. The truth is that there is no merit in the action scenes of the completely broken movie here.
Bottomline
Sam CS, Arun Gopi, and Shaji Kumar were trying to make an impact but failed terribly because of a weak script, Miscasting, and zero emotional connection.
