Ammu is a Telugu language movie directed by Charukesh Sekar starring Naveen Chandra, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Bobby Simha. The feature film is produced by Stone bench productions.

What works

Ammu is the story of a woman fighting a tough battle. They very well put out the situation and how patriarchy is deeply ingrained in our psyche, not just in case of men but also women. Director Charukesh sekhar easily conveyed the subject from the beginning of the movie. Some scenes are effective and related to everyone.

Ammu has limited actors. Aishwarya Lekshmi, She has delivered several memorable performances and this one will surely be one of her most accomplished acts! She gets completely into the skin of character, making viewers forget of her earlier performances. Naveen chandra makes a fantastic work. He looks dashing and completely suits the part.

What not works

With limited characters and limited locations, Ammu is clearly an OTT-targeted film. The film gives off a tele-serial mood with often over-dramatic scenes. Bobby Simha‘s character is an important part of the film but the character lacks depth. The second half has shifted to a revenge mood which affects the consistency of the film. The end tale, social drama mood of the climax felt forced.

Bottomline

Average !!!
