Adipurush is an Indian epic mythological film based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. The film is written and directed by Om Raut and produced by T-Series and Retrophiles. Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu languages, the film stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh and Devdatta Nage.

The slow narration and three-hour running time test the audience again and again due to the rhythmic errors that occurred when the well-known story of the Ramayana was condensed into three hours. This is not enough; Prabhas looks old and expressionless. New-age Ravana Saif Ali Khan and Lanka will be reminiscent of DC and Marvel Comics. Vanara sena and Lanka Sena will give you the feeling of watching an animation movie. The film cannot deliver the emotional connection or goosebumps moments that Ramayana TV episodes in the 1990s gave on the big screen.

Om Raut delivers a cinematic experience that is completely unbearable. The flawless VFX in the first two hours turned disastrous in the final act. Motion capture technology captured the actors’ movements and did not focus on expressions.

Brilliant visuals by Karthik Palani, music composed by the Ajay-Atul ,Sachet -Parambara team, and 3D technology are the only things that give the audience some relief. The Jadayu episode and forest visuals are excellent.

Bottomline

A failed technical experiment with poor VFX, an expressionless hero, and a long, stretched running time.
