Khufiya is a 2023 Hindi-language spy thriller film written, produced and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.The film is based on Amar Bhushan’s espionage novel Escape to Nowhere. It stars Tabu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film was released on 5 October 2023 on Netflix.
Khoofiya is an espionage thriller born from the veteran Vishal Bhardwaj film school. Like the previous Vishal films, Tabu deals with the main character, but Khufiya is a character-driven film that does not follow in the footsteps of women crntric films. The exceptional performances of the actors, the integrity of the character creation, and the direct portrayal of Indian foreign relations make the film different.
Vishal Bhardwaj, a proponent of realistic films, is good at portraying complicated situations, and that skill is shown here as well. Wamiqa Gabbi’s character stands out as the best in her career because of the complicated situations. Tabu and Ali fazal’s performances are an asset to the film.
Beyond the Epionage thriller, the glimpse into the private lives of the characters and the slow pace of the narration make Khufiya fall short of the usual Vishal Bhardwaj films. A lack of thrilling factors also lowers the quality of the movie.

Decent, yet dragged with the emotional touch and pointless character arc.
