Tarla is a Bollywood biopic drama written and directed by Piyush Gupta, while the screenplay was penned by Gautam Ved. Huma Qureshi in the titular role, who was portraying the character of Chef Tarla Dalal in ‘Tarla, while Sharib Hashmi, Purnendu Bhattacharya, Veena Nair, Bharti Achrekar, and many others in supporting roles.
Huma Qureshi’s measured acting and the inspiring life of a famous Indian woman named Tarla Dalal alone do not make a movie better. It needs the right ingredients to attract the audience in every way and the right setting to hold the audience. This is where the biopic Tarla fails; when director Piyush made Tarla’s life into a film, his ups and downs are covered in a flat narrative style, and out-dated making kills the essence of the film. And the thread of 1990s social conditions and women is not convincing to the audience and turns Tarla into an average biopic.
Bottomline
An average Biopic..
