What works
Gulmohar is the most sincere emotional family drama to emerge from Bollywood in a very long time. Rahul v chittella, a first-time director who also wrote the script, has created a beautiful work of art. Rahul is impressive because he is not trying to be impressive. Because he uses emotions sparingly and does not exaggerate, he effectively depicts each character’s mental condition. Because he is open and sincere with himself and his work, creates a memorable film with a variety of depths. As a director Rahul v Chittella is outstanding in every way.
The major performers, Sharmila Tagore, Manoj bajpayee, and every actors in the family, give heartfelt, affecting, and enduring performances. Sharmila Tagore , I don’t know how to adequately express how well she performed. Even though her character is multifaceted, neglected, mourning, and nuanced, Sharmila’s portrayal of her stands out as the most memorable in the film. For a very long time to come, her position would be discussed.
What doesn’t work
The narrative of Chittella and Arpita Mukherjee is really good, which is fantastic to start with, but yet beyond a certain point, the story starts to get a little confusing. The movie needed much better editing after just a few minutes. Some subplots that seemed to have a significant role at first were only partially developed.
